The study of the broad-line region (BLR) using reverberation mapping has allowed us to establish an empirical relation between size this line-emitting and continuum luminosity that drives line emission (i.e., R H β − L 5100 relation). To realize its full potential, intrinsic scatter in needs be understood better. mass accretion rate (or equivalently Eddington ratio) plays a key role addressing problem.
